Ski Demo FAQs

Do I need a reservation ahead of time?

Reserving ahead of time is highly recommended and will help guarantee you get the skis you want in the correct size.

How long can I demo skis?

Demos are offered in 1 day increments up to 7 days long. If you'd like to demo for more than 7 days, please make another reservation.

Do I need to bring my own boots?

Yes, you must come with your own boots. Lone Pine does not offer boot rentals. If you don't have boots, we can help you find a great pair from our huge selection of new and used options prior to your ski demo.

What happens if I damage the skis?

Normal wear from skiing is expected. Optional damage protection is available for $10/day and greatly decreases any repair or replacement cost customers are liable for. Check out our full damage policy below.

What do I need to bring?

Please arrive with a valid ID, your credit card, ski boots and stoke!

Does my demo fee go toward purchasing skis?

Up to 2 days of demo cost can be applied towards the purchase of any full-price 2026 ski.

Can I apply my demo fee to used skis?

Demo credit cannot be applied toward the purchase of used skis. They're already deeply discounted!

Who is the demo program best for?

Anyone who wants to ski better. First-time buyers, seasoned skiers dialing in their quiver, or anyone tired of guessing—this program is built for you.

Damage Coverage and Responsibility

Damage insurance limits the liability of renters in the case a demo ski is damaged or destroyed. Coverage does NOT completely release renters from damage/destruction liability. Damage protection does not in any way cover damage sustained when hitting rails or boxes on skis. If demo skis are used on rails or boxes, customer will be charged a flat fee of $50.

  • Damage Protection Option - Customers who purchase damage coverage receive limited protection against accidental damage:

Scratches and gouges on topsheets of skis
Edge dings or burrs
Base damage that doe not extend into the core of the ski.
Base damage extending into the core of the ski under 3 inches in length.

  • However, damage protection does not eliminate all liability. If demo skis are damaged beyond repair or deemed unsafe to return to service, the customer may be liable for the full replacement cost of the skis, as determined by the shop.
  • No Damage Protection - Customers who decline to purchase damage protection assume full financial responsibility for any loss or damage to the demo skis. If skis are damaged beyond repair or rendered unsafe for use, the customer may be liable for the full retail price of the skis at the time of loss.
  • Repairable Damage - If demo skis are returned with damage that is deemed repairable, the customer may be charged for the cost of repairs regardless of damage coverage status, though damage coverage will greatly decrease repair costs. Repair charges will be billed at the shop labor rate of $60 per hour, plus the cost of any required materials or replacement parts.
  • Determination of Damage - All determinations regarding the extent of damage, repairability, labor hours required, replacement cost, and retail value shall be made solely by the shop.
  • Lost or Stolen Gear - Customers are responsible for keeping demo gear resonably safe and accounted for. If any gear is lost or stolen, the customer may be liable for the full replacement cost of the gear at the time of loss.
